I knew I didn't really fit in at GA Tech. Maybe there's hope for me yet.

I know a lot of people who go to Tech. Everyone likes to think they're part of the cool kids and that everyone else is in the geek or nerd group of students. Truth of the matter is, they're all geeks and nerds down there

Too geeky - very specific equations that only those in their field would understand.

Maxwell's and Euler's are cool, though. Other beautiful equations are Pythagoras' and a couple of Einstein's.

That was the conclusion I came to when I was there. Now I've lost my identity.

Although I found 5.5 and up to be attractive, so there may yet be some geek down in there somewhere.

um... the only reason you'd know most of those equations is if you're a physicist, not a general geek. Flawed article is flawed.

I guess I'm not as geeky as my wife always says I am.

My nephew is a recent GA Tech grad. I'll have to ask him about those...

Pretend to know?

Then you're no longer a geek, just an external anal sphincter.

Precisely. The way I see it:

Geek - One with a strong enthusiasm for something that isn't sports related. (Bass geek, computer geek, etc.)

Nerd - One with extensive academic knowledge within a given STEM field.
