The Famous Grouse has launched a new brand called the Black Grouse; all in the aid of securing the future of the rare show off bird in Scotland.

Has anyone seen one of these birds?

Here is a link to the advert: http://www.rosshetherington.com/?p=315

Old Crow always reminds me of this friend of mine, his "signature" drink was 1/3 Old Crow, 1/3 Admiral Nelson, and 1/3 Grape Drink (whichever brand was cheapest).

It sounds perfectly hideous, in fact, it is perfectly hideous, but I've imbibed more of it than I care to admit.

I saw the adverts for it when I was watching that program about James Bulger on ITV the other night, I might have to try it. I'm on a real gin kick at the moment though!

Maybe he means fresh Grape juice (ala Welches).

Admiral Nelson is a Rum.

That drink sounds horrific.

Grape drink is a cheap knock-off "fruit punch" type drink that moderately resembles grape flavor. Dave Chappelle's skit on the matter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8LNGvgWnG8

Admiral Nelson is a cheap knock-off of Captain Morgan spiced rum. Funny thing is, though, while it's a lot cheaper than Captain Morgan at most liquor stores, the local walmart liquor store has Captain Morgan handles for cheaper than Admiral Nelson. YMMV.

I will agree with you that that sounds horrific.

I wonder if a Black Grouse tastes anything like the Blue Grouse I hunt every year here in Colorado? mmmm.... fried in bacon grease with onions.

I never said it was a good rum

And I wasnt sure about the grape thing, to me it just makes sense having fresh juices with alcohol

The guy should try making it with some Pussers rum!
