Ad-Aware was slowing my computers startup and it took a long time to load then to do updates, etc. Dumped it. Does anyone have a good ad blocking alternative? Thanks. |

- Ad-Aware (works fine for me)
- Spybot S&D
- Spyware Blaster
Also, if you use Internet Explorer, here's a (safe) tweak to stop ad servers on that browser: http://pgl.yoyo.org/as/
(Read all the info. The tweak is at "start blocking ads now: four easy steps")
Hope this helps. |

| | | | Firefox
Ad Block Plus
No-Script
Avast! anti-virus
Spybot S&D
all freeware all update automatically except Spybot, but that is easy to update manually every couple of days
Ad Block and No-Script are excellent.....I don't know how I lived without them before...it makes you realize how much of what comprises a web page is utter crap that has little to do with content. |

bc | Yep. Great program. As is Malwarebytes.
I used to use SPybot And Ad-Aware, but both have come to suck, IMO.

Avoid using IE as much as humanly possible.
Run Microsoft Security Essentials. Best program they've brought out in a long time. I've had two network managers recommend it to me over any other antivirus program available.
