Am I Being Impatient?

I sent payment via paypal for an item the day before Thanksgiving. I hadn't heard back from the seller that payment had been received nor have I gotten any sort of shipping confirmation. I contacted him a week later asking him if payment had been received and have sent subsequent correspondences,... 4 total,,,none of which have been replied to.

I'm not so much as upset as I am worried. I realize that people have lives and it's around the holidays which; between traveling and X-mas shopping, can be hectic,...but too hectic to at least communicate with me?

There are all kinds of scenarios going through my head one of which is that I've been ripped off, which would be completely unexpected considering who the person is. It would be nice to have a little peace of mind. Is the seller waiting for funds to transfer from paypal to his bank? Did the carrier leave it sitting on top of my mailbox for someone to steal? Did it get sent to the wrong address? Seems like if there is a SNAFU, the seller and the buyer need to work together to resolve it.

Everyday I get home and hope that there is at least some correspondence from the seller, or better yet,...my item is at the door/in the mailbox. Everyday I'm disappointed. I've received items paid for in as little as 2 days. It's been two weeks and I'm starting to feel dodged and ripped off and I'm getting close to asking for my money back or filing a dispute. Am I being too impatient?

I don't think you're being too impatient. 2 weeks with no item and no replies to communications is a long time.

I'd like to think of myself as understanding and easy to work with. I'm not upset that I don't have my item,...I'm uneasy and the uneasiness will go away if the seller would just talk to me. I'm not going to yell at the guy or get snarky with him (what good would that do?). I just want an update on my purchase.

Maybe the guy went camping for two weeks or went home from college,...if so a little note saying,...hey,...I'll mail your item when I get back would have been satisfactory.

and back OT, I think I would have come unglued after a fortnight of no contact.

Somewhere around 30 days is your paypal, "They did not ship, I'm filing a claim" time limit.
Even if there is just an email account mix up, I think youbshould at least cover your butt in case something is up. I ordered 3 things from ebay in they day you mention or 2 days after and I have received all my wares.

Try the paypal, and Ebay email address's. Call if there is a number. If you try all those and get nothing, file a claim.

Two weeks and no response in today`s technological age is absurd if you ask me. I probably check both my emails at least 5 times a day apiece.

Well the item arrived today. I do fell a little foolish but a lot of this could have been avoided if the seller had just talked to me. Chalk it up to a learning experience.

EDIT: I'm gonna have the mods shut this one down since there really is no need to continue this. I consider the issue resolved.
