I'm 36, a fairly normal guy who has played in various bands since I was 14, played college and semi-pro football (where beer and many other things were always available for free to me), and just don't like beer. My wife loves it, I just don't.
I have actually found that this fact has maybe limited my professional career in that there is something to be said about going out to have a beer with the guys. I always go, and get a soda. People are always really surprised that I don't get a beer.
Am I the only one? Just curious. |

A sip or two can be good, but it's disgusting to try to drink any more.
Conversely, I hear beer is an acquired taste. Maybe I just need to get used to it? |

My grandpa just had his 70th, he still doesn't like beer. We keep telling him he will grow into it

I, too, have heard that beer is an acquired taste. I keep trying it, but it just doesn't do anything for me. Give me a good cold Mountain Dew, and I'm a happy boy. |

However, once that was achieved, it's a pleasant drink and one I enjoy.

Unless you go places that make a point to specialize in beer the majority of what you see in the common bar barely qualifies. It's not the end of the world if you never find your type of beer, but it's a great thing when you do.

People say I'm weird.

| | | | Not just beer but most alcohol I don't like. I may on rare occasions have a margarita or daiquiri though or similar adult beverage. Even with those though, most times I make them without the alcohol.

Beer is a different story. It took a few years for it to grow on me, but I'm not sure how much that was it needing to grow on me vs. me just drinking cheep beer for the longest time. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
