Am I the only one who doesn't like beer?

I'm 36, a fairly normal guy who has played in various bands since I was 14, played college and semi-pro football (where beer and many other things were always available for free to me), and just don't like beer. My wife loves it, I just don't.

I have actually found that this fact has maybe limited my professional career in that there is something to be said about going out to have a beer with the guys. I always go, and get a soda. People are always really surprised that I don't get a beer.

Am I the only one? Just curious.

I can't stand beer.
A sip or two can be good, but it's disgusting to try to drink any more.

Conversely, I hear beer is an acquired taste. Maybe I just need to get used to it?

I didn't like it, then one day I just did. I still only like a few specific beers though.

My grandpa just had his 70th, he still doesn't like beer. We keep telling him he will grow into it

After 30 years of loving it, I got tired of the taste, and no longer drink it. Most people don't even notice that I'm having seltzer instead.

Oh yeah, I really don't care for wine either. I will on occasion have a rum and coke or jack and coke, and I have had a good scotch a time or two.

I, too, have heard that beer is an acquired taste. I keep trying it, but it just doesn't do anything for me. Give me a good cold Mountain Dew, and I'm a happy boy.

I had to cultivate a taste for it...the first sip was always great, but the rest of the beer took some getting used to.

However, once that was achieved, it's a pleasant drink and one I enjoy.

There are countless varieties of beer, but the sad thing is you have to actively seek many of them out. Unless you go places that make a point to specialize in beer the majority of what you see in the common bar barely qualifies. It's not the end of the world if you never find your type of beer, but it's a great thing when you do.

the most important aspect of any beer (in my opinion) is icey icey, brain freeze inducing, cold...

I don't like beer, or any alcohol either really. I also don't like whole milk, beef, BBQ, or coffee.
People say I'm weird.

Not just beer but most alcohol I don't like. I may on rare occasions have a margarita or daiquiri though or similar adult beverage. Even with those though, most times I make them without the alcohol.

Love Mountain Dew, Orange Juice, Apple Juice, really cold glass of milk.

Have recently fallen in love with Tropicana's Pomegranate and Blueberry juice mixed with 7Up. Delicious!!

I hate liquor and still don't understand how people can drink the stuff. Occasionally a mixed drink will surprise me and be tasty, but by and large I just hate the stuff.

Beer is a different story. It took a few years for it to grow on me, but I'm not sure how much that was it needing to grow on me vs. me just drinking cheep beer for the longest time.
