am i wrong for skipping my cousin's wedding shower?

Sign in to disble this ad
he is the groom and they are having a couples wedding shower.
in which i would be a single dude in the room not wanting to be there.

my main reason for not wanting to go is because it is a wedding shower.

i just would be eating more thanksgiving leftovers until i get bored and go on a beer run and never come back.

does this make me a bad person?

If they invited you and you rsvp'd positively, then I'd go. It's for your cousin, not you, btw.

Take a nice gift and enjoy catching up with other family members.

You'll probably get a lot of attention because your single and offers to set you up with some of their female friends.

Have fun!

i rsvp'd negatively and i see my cousin a couple times a month it wont be catching up that was all done yesterday over thanksgiving dinner.

as for the single female friends that already happens enough. i swear my family is trying to sell me off to the highest bidder these days.

just pass. having went through all of this a while back (as the groom), it hardly mattered if i was there until it came time for the wedding. show up for the big day, make your appearance and let them get on with it. weddings etc. are boring unless you're involved. wish them well but enjoy your status as single dude and entertain yourself as such.
