Amazon Kindle

My new Kindle came in today. I got a great deal from a website called woot.com, which is affiliated with Amazon. It's refurbished, and it was a steal at $95.00. Amazon has thousands of free books to choose from, all public domain so they're mostly older books. So I got myself War of the Worlds, The Wealth of Nations, the Communist Manifesto, even the Bible! I've got my reading cut out for me! Quite the toy!

Lots of good picking from the Free Classics section. I have the Kindle app on my droid phone as well as on my Nook Color e-reader/hacked droid tablet.

I got mine there too and just opened mine up. Like it so far. The browser works pretty decent too.

How do you find free books?

Also, I am not pleased with the processor. It's pretty slow. Lots of lag that can't keep up with the simple cursor highlighting of 10 titles on the page.

Go to Amazon's website, look on the left side and click on where it says "Kindle". Go over to where it says "Kindle Store". Once there look on the left side again and scroll down to where it says "Special Features". The next to last entry is "Free eBook Collections". Click on that and you're there.

I love my Kindle. It does what I need it to do, which is read books. Don't really care about any other features. Since I'm getting ready to move again, it's such a relief knowing that my Kindle has 50 books on it that I *don't* have to haul.

Yes, you can. When in the app, just go into the store and scroll to the section header "Free Popular Classics".
