American bands not famous in the UK?

I was thinking the other day - Muse are massive over here in the UK, but not so big in the US - I've come across people on this forum who have never heard of Muse, which shocked me greatly!

What bands are there who are massive in the US, but not the UK?




Possibly 311? I'm always seeing adverts for them in Bass Guitar magazine talking about their 'chart-topping new album', but I've never heard of them...

How about Hootie and The Blowfish?

Supposedly quite big in the US, but nobody really knows them over here in the UK.
