Amoxycillin+wine=?

What will happen if I have a glass(or 3)of wine after downing my last amoxycillin?

if its the last in the cycle , shouldnt be a problem.


but, if you were downing wine, with the amoxy everytime for 10 days, the amoxy would not work as well, if at all.

I have always heard that you shouldn't drink alcohol while taking antibiotics because it will somehow ruin the effects.

Then I finally asked a doctor about this and he said that the alcohol itself doesn't ruin anything. The reason why they don't recommend this is because if you drink too much and throw up, you might throw up the antibiotics pill and thus ruining/disrupting the whole antibiotic treatment.

I think the worst that could happen would be you'd get the hershey squirts. Amoxicillin does that to me. It's nothing to do with the wine.

Decreased effectiveness of the Amox. is all. If you have a bad bug, it might be worth it to wait. If it's already run its course and been effective the last dose won't matter much. Doing so earlier or stopping the drug early could be harmful.

Last dose, not a major deal. Doing it with a Z-pack that sits in your system longer than you take it orally would be worse.

I've had to take amoxycillin many times and it has never helped. I refuse to believe it actually does anything.
