With Barnes and Noble's NookCOLOR, you can root the device and run Android 3.0 (Honeycomb). There some limitations of course in doing so... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=936995
Cool thing though, is that you can right now get the NookCOLOR for ~$200 on eBay: HERE
Mine's en route to me... can't wait to get it

I already have the SD card ready |

-Mike | The hard part will be migrating my apps (I don't think they have the app store working yet) and actually using it... |

Use permission 644. Yes, you need to set permissions on the apps. But no, not full control. No guys from PP dev work on Android apps.

Pushing and pulling apps can be hazardous when the device is running, so you reboot into recovery and use ADB to get your work done. You can also use a terminal emulator app from the D1, but I prefer to do everything with ADB in recovery.

There should still be several APK's in /system/app.

I'll have to look some other day. There's lots in the ./system/app folder, but pretty much just the default ones, which I assume most of will be there with the image for 3.0 |
