Android Phone Apps for Music???

Sign in to disble this ad
hey all,

was wondering if any of you android users have some handy apps for music?

mostly i'm looking for a decent metronome, but was also wondering if there's a better recorder app than the one that came w/ the phone?

I installed gString (chromatic tuner)... but haven't had much chance to try it out yet.

I'd be interested in what get's said here. I love my Android phone and would like to find more uses for it (I really don't have much use for it as a phone )

as far as non music apps, I switched to dxTop as my interface and my sole purpose for having an Android device is the Subsonic app to interface with my server. I have a Samsung Moment on Sprint

Rehearsal Assistant for the Android mobile phone

Android Rehearsal AssistantRehearsal Assistant for the Android mobile phone platform is a voice / sound recording utility with two modes of operation:

* Session Mode - organizes recordings into sessions, and time-stamps relative to the beginning of the session, making it useful for recording your thoughts and observations during an event. If you are a choreographer or director watching a rehearsal of your work, this can help you make note of the feedback you want to share with the cast. If you are a researcher in the field or observing an experiment, this can help you record events of interest.
* Simple Mode - easy recording and playback of sound files. If you are a musician or writer, it can help you record and remember your spontaneous moments of inspiration. Also works great for shopping lists and other kinds of reminders.

Either mode allows you to review and e-mail the recordings afterward.

Of course limited sound quality by the hardware

The ethereal dialpad is a pretty good kaos pad/theremin type thingy. There's a budha machine if you're into that type of stuff, and RD3 is a good drum machine/bass synth.

I use "mobile metronome" for my metronome app. Not bad, and pretty customizable. I also have gStrings for a tuner as a "just in case" app, but haven't used it it.

I have this, it seems to work fairly well. I have no complaints with it.

I completely agree with rob72. And I love gString I use it to tune before gigs sometimes.

I use gStrings on my HTC Inspire. It is the fastest tuner I have, and is as accurate as well.

I've got DaTuner on my phone, I've been happy with it. I've also got Shazam which is handy if you hear a song you like but don't know what it is.

RD3 is my favorite app right now--it's got a few drum machines and a 303 with a decent interface, and best of all you can save/export your loops so you can incorporate them into DAWs and stuff...much cheaper than actually buying a 909 and a 303!
