Anniversery of Ron Hextall's History Making Goal

Just thought I temper the sad thoughts of John Lennon's death with a moment in hockey history.

Just think of all the players who've come and gone from the NHL who rank lower in goals (and points) than Mr. Hextall.

It figures that a goalie with his spirit and attitude would be the first to shoot the puck into the net. Very entertaining to watch. Also, the Potvin-Hextall fight is a classic.

Doesn't he have three or four now? Hextall wasn't the first to get a goal, the Islanders goalie (Smith?) was credited with one during their hayday.

Smith was credited with a goal as he was the last player to touch the puck before an opposing player put it into his own net.

Hextall is the first one to intentionally get a puck on net and score a goal. Here is a fun little wiki link
