Anonymous to "kill" Facebook tomorrow..?

Will Anonymous Target Facebook on Nov. 5?

aaaand

http://www.zdnet.com/blog/facebook/a...ovember-5/2450

It's debatable. You can find the video on youtube of their announcement on it, but it seems that the members of anonymous are torn on the issue... so I suppose we'll see what happens tomorrow..

What do you guys think will happen?
What do you want to happen?
Explain.

Personally, I hope they DO kill Facebook... for fun. I don't use it much these days anymore, anyway and it'd be kinda interesting to be affected directly by Anon.

Wasn't there something like this a while back where they were gonna take out tumblr, but due to their own disorganization, they failed and it blew up in their face?

It would be interesting to see how long my sister can last without withdrawal symptoms.

That has been a 'Known Issue' on Facebook for a while now.

When they actually deal with *insert religious movement here, you know, the one that Tom Cruise is a part of*, then I'll actually believe their threats.

Those folks scare me. They've bought up a LOT of land down here in Clearwater. I just wish my Thetan level was high enough to know what's going on...

Yeah, that would be great if they took out Facebook. Then I have to figure out how the heck I'm getting people to my shows.

Anonymous doesn't have the ability to kill Facebook. I read an article a couple weeks ago about cyber terrorism which talked about how people are scared of groups like Anonymous or Lulz when those guys don't pose any real threats beyond DDoS attacks.

It went on to discuss the hackers that Russia hired to shut down the Georgian defense systems. They launched a massive cyber attack and while the Georgian officials were trying to figure out what was going on, Russian tanks rolled right across the border.

Then it mentioned that the most advanced active cyber security team is working at Facebook, to the point that they have done consulting work for DoD. Anonymous is not in that league.

If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there, did it make a noise? Maybbeso.

Will I notice if Facebook falls into a flaming pit filled with lava? No.

They've got the most advanced security team but their programmers aren't worth their weight in java manuals.

AntiSec (LulzSec and Anonymous) breached DoD July 11th 2011, claiming to have obtained over 90,000 military email and hashed passwords. I don't think it's fair to say Facebook is out of their league. But from what I heard Anonymous already tried and didn't have the resources to bring the site down anyways.

It wouldn't surprise me if some of the Anonymous guys and some of the FB/DoD guys are one in the same, or have been in the past.

I also am not unsympathetic to many of their dealings, although I have no affiliation or skills in that area.

I think they are biting off more than they can chew here. It would be hilarious to see FB go down. But it's most likely not happening. At worst I'd expect to not be able to use it for a brief amt of time? If that?
