Will the Clydesdales sport wooden shoes now?
Without getting politcal, any thoughts?
(BTW I am not a Bud fan, but Bud is an okay "fishing" beer)

I just drank my last American Budweiser

I'm glad my grand-pappy didn't live to see this day. No way did he firebomb Berlin for me to grow up and have to drink no euro-weenie beer...that's for sure. USA USA USA USA USA
In all seriousness, if the euros are going to buy Bud does that mean its classy now?

This is not good. First Ampeg, the Levi's, now Budweiser... let's just go ahead and sell the White House next. |

But with any aquisition, I would expect changes to improve the bottom line in the near future.
I wouldn't bet against them moving some of the brewing to Mexico due to having ties with the Modelo brands. |

I thought you yankies were all about capitalism? | No problem for me. Now we can no longer say that the worst beer in the world is American. |

I thought you yankies were all about capitalism? | Calling some of us "Yankees" is worth a beat down...just so you know.
Anyway, its got everything to do with capitalism. A company that has branded itself as "America's beer" for god knows how long will loose a lot of its market share in the U.S. if its owned by foreign interests. Strictly as a business move, I don't see how it makes sense for them to buy it unless they plan to offset the lost market share in the U.S. with greater worldwide sales. And I don't think the world is waiting for "American"beer.
Could be wrong, but I'd be selling my stock right about now if I had any.

It isn't particularly cheap, and it isn't particularly good. | From the back of a bottle of Arrogant Bastard Ale made by Stone Brewing in San Diego:
"This is an aggressive beer. You probably won't like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth. We would suggest that you stick to safer and more familiar territory - maybe something with a multi-million dollar ad campaign aimed at convincing you it's made in a little brewery, or one that implies that their tasteless fizzy yellow beer will give you more sex appeal. Perhaps you think multi-million dollar ad campaigns make a beer taste better. Perhaps you're mouthing your words as you read this." |

Anheuser Busch was a public company. The stock holders can be in the US, or anywhere else in the world. Now they are becoming part of another public company, InBev. They wouldn't be paying a premium for AB if they didn't plan to make it bigger and better.

Anyway, I'm not bashing American Pilsner perse (I don't even know what the heck Pilsner is). I just prefer a more refined beverage...like Milwaukee's Best Ice.
