well, apparently the political advertisers are getting more sneaky in attempting to circumvent our filters.
if you see an ad, please report the link the ad takes you to via pm directly to either myself or one of the other admins, or the "contact us" link at the bottom of the page, and we will have it blocked immediately.
most of these ads are time-sensitive, part of cynical blitz campaigns on the part of the individuals advertising, often in the days before an election. as such they misrepresent themselves to the ad providers in an effort to bypass the very filters we have in place.
these ads disgust us. i know they disgust a large element of our membership as well. remember, discussing these ads - protesting them, posting negative comments about talkbass, etc - is playing into the hands of the individuals who are trying to get their message out, around our filters. this is not helping us, this forum, or your fellow tb'ers, it is helping the individuals who are responsible for this crap in the first place.
therefore, any postings regarding these ads will henceforth be considered POLITICAL DISCUSSION and as such will be infracted.
if you wish to do something to -help us- and to -hurt- the jerks responsible for this crap, -report it to us privately-.
