I do understand that there are people out there that are indeed clinically, medically depressed. However, if a GP can prescribe a drug intended for a very specific psychological condition that the GP is not fully trained to diagnose and treat, isn't that a PROBLEM? I am thoroughly frightened of "Big Pharma" and their ability to market their products the way they do.
The fact that these drugs are overprescribed is undeniable, and now we are seeing environmental effects?
(Take into account that I blame antidepressants, specifically Zoloft and Paxil, for at least part of my first divorce - my wife was sad [my fault, admittedly], and instead of talking things out with me, she went to her doctor who prescribed first Zoloft, then Paxil. Instead of getting better, both made the situation WORSE. Misprescription of antidepressants by unqualified practitioners should be against the law - worse things than unnecessary divorces have occurred because of them.)

An advertisement for a pill to treat the side-effects of your anti-depressant.
Zoloft making you depressed? Here, take this too. Don't mind the rectal bleeding.
