Any Arizona residents?

Hey, gang. Well, doing a bit of research here and would appreciate any info on what life is like in Arizona.

I'm soon to be 57 and was working in CNC machine shops as an inspector until 13 months ago when I got laid off. Needless to say, the job situation here in Michigan is the pits. Got a brother who lives in AZ (Chandler area) who says I would have no problem finding work out there. As much as I don't want to leave everything and everybody that I know and love, a move is something that I just might have to do if things don't start turning themselves around here.

I've sent my brother my resume because he's in contact with a lot of job shops out in Arizona and he's going to see what might be available.

Now assuming (and this is a BIG assumption) that things look favorable for me to head out west, what are the pro's and con's of life in AZ? I was out there about 3 years ago for vacation and I loved it! Spent time in the Chandler area and drove up to Sedona. Love the whole desert vibe and the look of the place. But I know that vacationing is one thing and that "life in" is another thing.

So, any info good or bad would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Learn to chug. You will never drink enough water. Eye drops are also a good idea.
