Any Autodesk Maya users here?

I just got this program. I have a very limited background with it (took two short classes on it).

I wanted to know, if there's any experienced Maya users on here, if you guys have any tips on making a 3D Model of a bass guitar?

Maya is very fun, and very easy to use once you figure out the basic workflow. There are a lot of good video tutorials out there.

This is a good place to start.

Good luck!

Are you referring to how long it takes to learn everything about Maya? If so, don't worry, I know what I'm getting into.

Not really... just even learning what to do to make a modeled bass that looks pretty good will take a fair amount of your time. For me and my background, I'd rather do it in 3D Studio MAX, but most people don't like it for some reason and use Maya...

Maya is what I have and what I know how to use. If I had 3ds Max and knew how to use that, I might try it in there. Never used 3ds Max before though.

Edit: and in regards to how long it'll take, my teacher knew how to make a model of a guitar within just a few hours. Of course, he has years of experience with 3d modeling, I do not.
