Any BBC World Service listeners?

Hi peeps,

Just wondered if anyone else listens to the BBC World Service radio station. I have it on at home because I like the fact they have contributors from all over the world and a good mix of programmes.

Any other listeners from around the world?

I like to listen to it on occasion, usually when I'm in the car driving around. PBS carries it over here across the pond. It's not the same-old-same-old, there's a much more international flavor to it.

Yep! I listen to it most days on my way to work, on my local NPR affiliate (WHYY, 90.0 FM, Philadelphia). The only personality name I can list is Claire Bolderson.

Rajan Datar does "Over to you", Bridget Kendall does "The Forum" and Neil Nunes reads the news sometimes, but I know him better as the continuity announcer on Radio 4 just before and after the shipping forecast.

One of the local stations here, KPCC (89.3), carries BBC World Service several hours a day.

I want to take this opportunity to say that Marry Anne Seacart is the most British name imagineable.

how 'bout Owens Bennett Jones?

I listen to it on a local NPR station and love the perspective it builds with the American national new services.

the BBC world service is on at 12am central time here in KC for their morning show. I'm usually getting off work about then, so I listen pretty regularly.

Used to listen way late at night while driving around town before I graduated. I really prefer the BBC to the mainstream media outlets here. There's just way to much sensationalism (among other things) plaguing our media.

Unfortunately, I now have to be a day person despite my true nocturnal nature.
