Hey all. I was wondering if anyone's a fan of the English Premier League. I know some of you have to be, but I've never seen any discussion.
What teams do you support?
I'm a Tottenham fan, and I think we'll stay up.

I'm an Arsenal fan, as evidenced by my avatar.
I've developed a healthy hate of Man United. The Dallas Cowboys/New York Yankees of the Premier League.
I also have to be a bit of a fan of Brighton and Hove Albion since that's my mother's home town. We don't get a lot of news from the bottom of League 1 here in the US!

When I can be bothered with it I go for Chelsea, only because I'm from round that way originally. I quite like playing Pro Evo, played it a lot a few years ago but havn't got a copy now. |

I'm not a club football fan, although I enjoy watching it a lot. In the Champion's League I'll follow any English team. If it's two English teams I'll support the one that isn't Chelsea. However it is England that really brings out the maniac sports fan in me.
Utd for the quintuple this year, IMO!

I've even been to Anfield once.. I saw Liverpool vs. Fulham on February 5th 2005.
Liverpool won the game 3-1 with goals from Morientes, Hyypia and Baros. Cole scored the goal for Fulham.

Utd for the quintuple this year, IMO! | Not a Leeds United fan, are you, Joe? I used to dread every time you'd get Leeds United and Millwall playing at The Den... used to have to drive past there every Saturday, and the roads would inevitably be blocked off with dozens of police cars because of the fights!
Not a huge football fan myself, but I'll toss my hat in... went to a lot of Crystal Palace games in my time. |

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Jul 2002 Location: Northern Va. | | | I'm a huge soccer / football fan. The only team I am a 'Supporter' of is DC United. But I watch the EPL as if it were breathing oxygen. That said, I haven't and probably won't "pick" a team to support and pledge my allegiance to. I think that kind of support needs to happen organically, based on family, location, etc. I could never pick a top 4 team to support out of the blue, it doesn't seem right.
I do, however, pick a team of interest from year to year. It had been Blackburn for a few years, because of Ryan Nelsen (former DC United captain) and Brad Freidel. I followed Reading out of (and, sadly back into) the Championship because of Bobby Convey (again, ex-DC United) and Marcus Hahnemann.
This years lucky recipient of my not insignificant karmic vibes is Aston Villa, US owned, backstopped by Brad Freidel, and one of the more exciting stories of the season.
