I am, and I can't tell if it's affecting me negatively.... I am having more and more trouble tolerating other people's use and abuse, and there's a lot of it on this island. You know how it is, too... they never think it's a problem

Take care of yourself. If you see somebody trying to figure it out, help however you can.

There's plenty of partying in San Diego too, especially when your hobby involves playing rock clubs. I don't necessarily agree with all the philosophy of the program, but from what I can tell, the results seem like a positive so far.

Just keep the focus on yourself and keep fighting the good fight, don't worry about what others are doing. It can drive ya nuts!

Seriously, if it happens outside the confines of your own head then it is probably out of your control. You can either accept the behavior of others or change your situation/location. Either way, taking other people's inventories is a waste of your time.

If other people's partying is bothering you, there is something going on with you. Go talk to your sponsor.

Just based on the things he talks to me about, ignore the guys who don't want to change, and be there for the guys that do. Other than that, focus on your goal and be proud of yourself for taking charge of your own health and the safety and happiness of your loved ones.

As far as Bill W. goes, I know plenty of people who are addicted to AA. Take away their meetings and they're like lost little sheep. Trading one crutch for another really. If alcohol is a problem for you, just quit drinking. I don't buy the "It's a disease" bs either.

What do I care. I worry about my problems myself. If AA works for you, great. As long as you don't preach it to me or act like you are better than me because you don't drink/use drugs. I am not the one who had such a problem with it I felt the need to get into some "program". Every person I know who does AA is like this. Excuse me, but I don't need advice from a junkie.
