When I wear the black suit, I prefer this hat:

It helps if you carry a mini-Maltese.

Otherwise, I go for the classic:

I just go to thrift stores and buy whatever strange hats I can find, anything to bring attention to my band.

It's really hard to find a good hat for an afro hair style. This guy found a creative solution...

I'm really feelin' the love in here!

Anyways, here's a shot of the Kangol Monty. I look like a moose as usual, but the hat itself is nice. I recommend it.

good shots. i think that much hair helps visualize how that style would look over a 'fro.

I too like Bailey and Stefano, and I buy them here as my skull is plus-size as well (size 8 is *snug*)

I like this one for ourdoor casual gigs, but I'm a long way from having an afro...

I occasionally wear this, but overall I tend to not wear hats on stage anymore. I move around WAY too much for a hat to stay on my head for long.

The fedora has potential to be a great wardrobe touch or it can be a complete disaster. If you're someone who really takes pride in your appearence, the fedora can really make you stand out in a good way. If you have the LAN-playing, computer science, ill-fitting clothes, doesn't bother shaving patchy sideburns look, then the fedora just makes you look all the more redonkulous.

Case in point...

(granted, we're not all Usher but...)Good fedora look:

Bad fedora look:

Not sure I buy it. I had a gf a couple years back who would always get turned on whenever I wore a flat bill. She absolutely loved the look of a guy with a good fitting hat on his head.

I'd just go to a local mom n' pop haberdasher, quality dress clothes and hats.

I wear a wide brim fedora to work every day; in the summer I wear a Panama.

If I wear any hat while playing, it's probably a stingy brim black hat....but I usually don't wear one.

Here's a nice one with a medium brim:
