Played it through high school and grew up in lacrosse central. My favorite team sport by far. The last gear I bought was in 1988 so I can't help with new gear recommendations.

Hmmmm I haven' played since HS, and my stick was the (almost)shizzle back then. Looks like they basically grip taped the whole stick with that... pretty cool. Go for it, for thirty bucks you can't really lose. It looks like a pretty standard Warrior head, you should be in good shape.

Never heard of that brand name, but same with most of the guys that have posted, I played in Grade School HS, but that was over 10 Years ago. But Lax is one of the greatest sports out there. What position are you? Mid or Attack?

How seriously are you playing. As somone else said Ive never heard of that brand. The biggest issue being the pocket and the stick strengh. I used to use like $100 shafts and break 5-10 a season. And when they break they are kinda dangerous, so if your playing highschool or above id stay away from that. The pocket looks ok, although i really prefer to put my own in so i know exactly how its gonna act. Stick with warrior, thats what ive always played.

I wish I played lacrosse. Man, it's the closest thing to hockey off-ice that I've ever tried.

I always used STX sticks with an aluminum shaft. I had a few long defense sticks too. I miss playing, I'd probably die on the field now

I'm very serious about playing but I'm not going to be playing seriously for a while (in other words, mainly just throwing it around, no checking each other with sticks at 20mph)

Crease defenseman back in college for our club team (the school had no official program) but that's almost 20 years ago. But if you're gonna play D make sure you get a solid head, not one designed for attack. You're going to be using it as a weapon much more than handling the ball

Played 6 years of competitive, box lacrosse (you know, the way crazier kind that you play inside). Always top five in league scoring, team MVP a few times and provincial (same as state for you yanks) once. Division champs 5 years in a row. I would say that I know a bit about lacrosse. For what it is, it is a decent stick. Don't expect to be playing any rough and tumble lacrosse with that stick, it will snap like a twig.

I have always used STX heads and Mohawk handles. If you can find mohawk stuff, it is the best on the market. They have this one shaft that weighs something like 7oz and is impossible to break (I put it between two chairs and jumped on it, didn't bend in the slightest), some sort of titanium composite. Sick stuff. They also have sweet heads, but I could never get used to the offset so I stuck to a STX non-offset head. Every year I would buy a new head, every year I would go back to the STX. It had a lot of mod work done to it by the end, new shooting strings, new mesh, recurved (illegal, but I was good at it, can't tell) ect. I stopped playing to pursue soccer full time, blew out my knee and can't run anymore. I would love to play still. If you have any questions, PM me.

I second the STX heads. They make great stuff. I used STX Excalibur heads all through HS. When I first started I was using Brine, which weren't bad, but seemed to snap easily, especially in cold weather. I grew in NH, so when we started LAX it was in March and there was usually still snow on the ground and we would practice on pavement for the first 3 weeks or so. That's when I found that the brine heads would snap, they could take a hit that well when it was cold. STX I never had that problem. If you're serious about playing its worth having a good stck, and as someone else mentioned learn to string it and make your own pocket and adjustments. Plus you can make a couple of bucks on the side fixing other peoples pockets. I did that back in HS. There was always someone saying, "hey man can you sting my sitck like that", and I was alway$ willing to help.
