I'd like to thank you all for helping pay for my college education with your wasted money .

(At least the FL lottery throws A LOT at education, not sure how it is in other states... I get at least $4k a year from that specific state scholarship.)

Ditto.

Never played the lottery and never will. But thanks go out to those who do for funding public education in Illinois.

I used to have a system. Buy a $2 or $3 scratch off every time I got in my car and had a seven facing me on the fuzzy dice. For a while I won $75, then $25, then $20, then $25... lost a bunch here and there but in the long run ended up having $100 more than I started with. Those dice were doing something right... up until the day they were stolen.

I play the instant scratch offs a lot.

Mostly the mustang money one and battleship. The most I've won was 500 bucks on the battleship one and I've won 50 on the mustang money one 15 or 20 times.

I like the scratcher ones. Decent fun, and if you win a couple times it evens out.

I might buy one today. Maybe if I someone walks in the office and asks me to notarize something, I'll use a bit of my money from that to get some from the 7-11.

I especially will pick one up if the theme is related to 7. Favorite number and all.

I never do the lottery unless Powerball goes over 100 million, in that case I will get one every once in a while. Certainly not addicted though.

I've never played the lottery or bought scratch-cards or anything. I'm in enough debt.

There is also a trick to knowing when you have a winner.

If there is a purple or a white line between two scratch offs one of them is a winner. That's why I buy many of the same ticket rather than spreading my money out to a few different ones. That's what they want you to do.

You learn so many things when you work at a corner store.
