Any music majors here?

Hi, I'm currently a freshman in college. My main focus is math, but I was considering dual majoring in music. What do you music majors think of your experience? I'm not sure I would want to do it if it is mostly theory(I'd probably stick with another science) but I'm curious as to what your perspectives are. I am not going to be a professional musician(at least I think so)

it is mostly theory. there is roughly one performance class required a semester, but the bulk of the music program is learning theory.

im thinking about ditching the bands next semester because the conductor is a douche. im in community college so i dont have a lot of required classes left before i can transfer out.

I (was) a music major........Music Ed K-12, graduated back in 1988.........only taught for a while though, but now my "day job" is totally unrelated. If I had it to do again, I would likely still be a music major, but probably make some different choices along the way.

for me it was pretty short on theory, and tons of emphasis on playing in bands/specialized ensembles/solo etc
