Is there any good music shows and tv shows out I seem to be inspired to play when I see music being played for some odd reason.

Look at getting some gig DVDs. U2: Zoo TV is a good'un, as is most of Pink Floyd's stuff...If you like it more modern then you could get Muse's HAARP DVD; I haven't seen it, but it's Muse, so it should be pretty good.

Killer Diller about an autistic piano player who joins a halfway house band is kind of hard to find. Tyler Perry plays normally have that musical sequence. In the movie adaptation of I Can Do Bad All By Myself the lead character is a nightclub singer. Blandslam is about a High School Battle of the Band's which is described as Texas High School Football big. In She's Out Of My League the best friend of of the lead describes himself as "a 5 who becomes a 7" because he plays bass and sings the Daryl Hall parts in a Hall & Oates tribute band.

PBS has an excellent concert series "artist den" or "artist studio" or something, has had some really excellent artists on it....otherwise, the prime time mainstream "music" oriented shows blow bigtime. Sunday morning breakfast with the arts is pretty ok too.....otherwise, slim pickings on regular t.v., no respect when a reality show trumps ratings-wise.

Movies wise, a dry well lately too. I did get a recharge revisiting "once" recently though. Great inspiring film. I also saw two excellent biopic movies, one called "still Bill", about Bill Withers, and "Who's Harry Nillson", which was also fantastic.

I guess you missed the release of Thunder Soul about an award winning 70s stage band in Houston. If it gets a DVD release it should be soon

Portlandia on IFC is pretty funny.
I caught an episode of Shameless last week, and that show seems good.

I need to see that. A lady at work was telling me how great it is, but she thought it was about Seattle. I had to explain to her the Seattle/Portland rivalry, and her mistake was fightin' words for some Seattleites.

Weird thing is, I think an aquaintance of mine is in that show. She used to be in a band named Sleater-Kinney which is the name of a major street in Lacey where I used to live.
