Any Old Timers still posting?

Sign in to disble this ad
I was a regular poster, then I stopped playing bass, then I started up again, then I started lurking, now might be posting.

I'm not looking for ecstatic applause, just anyone I might know say hello.

I totally respect my elders, but I'd be remiss if I didn't point out you are, in fact, posting. Not "might" Sir.

Hello, my name is Funky Ghost. Welcome home.

I'm from 2001. Do I count as an Old Timer? I don't play bass though.

Mr Ghost, I will ignore the pedantry and than you for your kindness.

BTW is it still form to open a can of Fuqua on all and sundry or does one have to be polite?

Don't let it faze you. I am almost 61 which is ancient to some. I stopped playing for many years and then returned 2 years ago. Its taken me this long to get some of my skills back............................... Look on the bright side bass equipment (cabs and heads) have gone down in the weight dept. ( not price) .....Also information on this site is very easy to access.................Take care and good luck .....

I'm an AARP approved 55 year old who still plays. As for coming to TB land, I think I found this weird and wonderful community back around 2004. Welcome back.

Thanks for the kind comments.

Horny Toad I'd forgotten about that one. Looks like I checked in and out again.

BTW I meant old timers as in John Turner, Jazzbo, Big Wheel etc not old timers in age. I'm 49 years young.

Why, I'm proud of my high falutin ways ! ( and for you to use that lovely word in a sentence is a subtle display )

Ah hell, yer only a couple years older than me {{ Honestly got where you were comin' from, I'm just a wisenheimer }}

I almost never post here anymore. I mostly check out the Classifieds once a day, looking for an old USA made ATK or a Gibson victory. Other than that, nothing.

The good old days when TB was addictive as crack are long gone.

I've been lurking since about 2003. Back in the days when SX basses were all the rage.

I came aboard about 5 months after you, so I guess I qualify. There is a level of impoliteness that will not be tolerated, BTW.

These days, it only behooves one to open a can on another whom one considers an old friend. Many of the youngn's don't quite get the spirit of the thing and take it as a challenge to one's manhood. You, of course, given the history, may feel free to Fuquafy my name at will.

Thanks. I'm seriously looking to come over to the dark side. So expect questions re 'what's resin', 'where are the frets?' etc in the near future.
