The "stuff" is hitting the fan out there, anyone play seriously online and have money on any of these sites that got shut down?

Three largest online poker sites indicted and shut down by FBI | Money & Company | Los Angeles Times

Stories about a day old by now but its still shocking to me.

Used to carry a significant balance at Sportsbook.com during NFL season that I would use for occasional poker play. They went through something similar several years back and I learned my lesson. Didn't take a huge hit or anything but it was an eye opener.

Had recently started playing a weekly "home game" through one of the sites that got tagged. I wrote off the ~$30 I submitted as play money anyway, so although it'd be nice to retrieve (I managed to break roughly even on overall play even with the house's offensive rakes) I could accept it as lost.

Should be very interesting to see what happens with this situation and D.C.'s move toward legalized online gaming in that area. The articles I've read make a point to say that hordes of poker players moving into D.C. will "class up" the place.

I'm keeping an eye on it. Some people make a living playing online poker. Should be intersting...

Looks like it, I quit playing about 2 years ago to focus more on school but I have a few friends who are still heavily involved online and have significant amounts of money tied up in this.

Very messy situation, esp. for those who make their living playing online. It could be months before anyone sees a dime of their money.

I play at a lot at one of the sites that got hit, but all the money I have tied up right now is this month's winnings off a tournament that I hadn't transferred out yet. They haven't told me that I can't access it, but that may be because of how I transfer funds. We shall see - it's not a lot, but I'd hate to lose a nickel.

I was a former Full Tilt addict. Glad I stopped playing that stuff, but boy was it addicting. I had a good time too though, won some good money a few years ago (and lost it).
