Any Season Ticket Holders Here?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys,

Wondering if any of you are season ticket holders to any sports? Do you attend all the events? Share your package with someone else? Do you sell your extra tickets? Give them away?

My buddies and I just locked down season tickets for the New York Red Bulls next year. Stepped up from a five game package on weekends to a whole season. Of course there are a few games we won't be able to get to and we're wondering how the seasoned pro's take care of their spares?

Oh, and what sport and team are yours?

My parents have season tickets to the Winnipeg Jets. They split the tickets 2 ways with my uncle, and he split his half in half with a friend of his. Before the season started, they sat down and looked at the schedule, all made picks for games that they wanted to go to, and everyone gets a fair amount of games. I've been able to make it to 1 game this year, and had a great time, can't wait to go again.

When you can't make a game, tickets aren't hard to get rid of. Either a friend will take them, or I'm sure you'll be able to find someone that wants them.

I haven't this year, but I have bought season tickets for the Edinburgh Rugby team. A student season ticket is £90 IIRC, so hardly breaking the bank, plus you get bonus tickets so that you can bring friends along for free to some games. If unable to make a game, there is usually someone who'll take the ticket for free

I just renewed my Seattle Sounders fc tickets a few days ago. Made it to all but one match last year, Gave those tickets to a friend. I plan to go to all home matches this year, and a few away trips. New York being on of them if we play over there this year... Depends on the stupid unbalanced schedule this upcoming season.

My in-laws have season tickets to Clemson football. They sit with a large (15 or so) group, so any extra tickets get distributed to guests of the other families (like my wife and I). We have also been known to sell the tickets outside the gate when we have extras. Can't get full price for them, but might be enough to cover in game snacks and drinks.

I share Steelers and Penguins season tickets with my uncles. I usually make it to a couple Steeler games and a handful of Pens games. Now that I am closer to Pittsburgh, hopefully more Pens games. I don't care much for the NFL anymore.

Last season, we had season tickets to the Tacoma Rainiers, AAA team for the Seattle Mariners. We went to about half the games and gave the others to friends.

My dad's former employer had Astros season tickets that they would use for clients whenever they were in town, which was quite rare and even then they didn't want to go baseball games. Employees could take them if there wasn't a client in town. Since my dad was the only Astros fan in his office we practically had season tickets for free and we used the crap out of them!

I have season tickets to the Oklahoma City Philharmonic classics series...I don't guess that counts though.

I don't have much use for sports.

Got my first season ticket at Everton in 1981. Had it until 2005, when the birth of my daughter pretty much put paid to spending all of Saturday out on the ale with my mates.

The last few seasons I was still going, it was costing me a grand. This was for all home and cup games, plus priority for away games, which was a feature we regularly took advantage of.

I realise that I can NOW legitimately whine and moan about the overpaid, mercenary prima-donnas that they are, because I am no longer helping to line their already bulging pockets.

We had LA Rams season tickets when I was a kid it got me and my father to the Dolphins vs Redskins Super Bowl game. Football is only about 8 games though. A friend has LA Lakers season tickets, an early season game normally meant a birthday present for me.

My wifes grandparents hold season tickets to the Ducks. Sometimes they come my way for a free night out.

My dad and his business partner split season tickets to the Sounds a few years back. We just gave away tickets to games we couldn't make it to.

My daughter is a Junior at Clemson, and we got season tickets for the first time this year. It's been a GREAT!! I love the atmosphere from Tigertown to the Esso, tailgating all over campus, the football has been awesome this year (ignoring this past weeks loss to NC State).

We have not sold any of our exra tickets, but either give them to a friend to use, or just spread out for a little more room in the stands. Our tailgate spot is right next to the stadium (due to our friends IPTAY points) so there are always people buying and selling tickets, and my friend has sold a few of his extras, getting more than double the face value at the FSU game. At the start of the season there were way more sellers than buyers, but as Clemson kept winning, the buyers began to outnumber the sellers, and prices went up.

I had a Wolves season ticket for years - home and away. But when I joined my current band, some of the gigs we were doing meant I missd quite a few games and the ticket was often not used. So, now I don't have one. I can't say I really miss the weekly stress, hassle and misery of being a full time supporter.

Yep. At least when we get beat these days, I can just turn off the telly and not sit miserable in traffic for hours on the long drive home from Newcastle on wet February Wednesday night...

I'm looking forward to the day I can get Red Sox and Patriots season tickets. I merely have to get the right six numbers for the lottery and I'm good to go!

And I'll know I've made it when I have my own pair of seats to my beloved NJ Devils... but until then my neighbor has a pair and I can usually score 5-6 games a year, 5 rows from the glass.
