Any 'trickers' out there...?

I've been into the tricking scene for quite a while, freestyle acrobatics, parkour and such. Wondering if anyone else on here likes to do this kind of stuff?

Thats me doing some flips and the like. I spliced that movie out of footage, haven't done it in a while due to leg injuries etc etc.

Wow, that's pretty cool. I can jump 6" off the ground, ...does that count as "tricking"?

When you said tricking I was thinking that you were talking about the thing where you do tricks off of urban stuff. Like jumping onto railings and flipping off. I do a bit of that, just nothing too special.

Yeah, 'urban tricking' is called parkour. Which is basically getting from place A to place B in the shortest time 'possible'. So they run round cities and whatnot jumping off ledges etc etc. It's pretty cool, it's like a practical use for tricking. Although I ask you this, whats more practical then using it to show off to ladies at a party?

My gym is the one in Donvale, if he's ever been there I probably would know him. Or have met him.

VERY COOL! I can only wish, right knee was KO'd by a bad jump ( airborne out of a C130) when I was a kid. Looks like great excersize adn fun!

Practical application - dude, that's a great roundhouse kick as long as you dont take time to set up. I mean, you might be ablre to take out three or four guys crowding you! Urban practicality!

Problem is that the purpose of that roundhouse is to lift off and land on the same leg, which may sound easy but without that rotation at the start, is near impossible. Mind you doing that certainly has made my other kicks a hell off alot more potent!

A kick like that can't really hurt all that much though. It's more smooth than aggressive there is no real power behind the throw.

I'm not exactly skilled, but I am into a bit of parkour stuff... I'm still waiting for a big enough snowfall that I can practise long drops without getting hurt. I already have a decent bit of skill at getting up reasonable structures, vaulting fences, kicking off walls, and that sort of thing, but there's very few good areas for that sort of thing within walking distance of my house.

Parkour isn't a martial art that is useful for things like roundhouse kicks... it's more like, hopping a fence, getting onto a rooftop, getting off the rooftop somewhere else, and leaving the other guy wondering how the **** you got up there. Or perhaps dropping unexpectedly onto someone's head, which is a lot more forceful than any roundhouse ever was.
