any web gurus familiar with reCAPTCHA?

Sign in to disble this ad
So there's this internet forum (not unlike TalkBass, at least in terms of the site's construction/organization) that I'm trying to sign up for, but they use reCAPTCHA Image Verification for registering new members.

When I go to the new user registration page, the Image Verification field is blank, and it only shows this message: "This reCAPTCHA key isn't authorized for the given domain"

And when I try to ask the webmaster about this problem, by going to the Contact Us page on their site, guess what? They use reCAPTCHA Image Verification for contacting the webmaster also, and the Image Verification field on that page is blank also, and it also only shows the message "This reCAPTCHA key isn't authorized for the given domain" !!!

And of course there are no other email links or obvious ways to directly contact the webmaster or site owner/developer.

Ever see this before? Any ideas? Thanks.

Sounds like they have a major snafu. Hope they figure it out soon, or they'll be losing users pretty fast.

+1

Hoover: you could try sending a regular e-mail message to webmaster@domain.name (whatever the site's domain name is).

Good idea...but I already tried that. Also tried administrator@domain.name. Even got creative and tried @members.domain.name (for both webmaster & administrator). Everything bounces.

My latest project is tracking down the site's hosting company and seeing if anyone there has an email address for the webmaster.
