Hey all,
I have a second interview coming up this Friday for a position that I want extremely badly. It's a Director position for all of Children's Services Behavioral Health at the agency that oversees the managed care organizations for a four county region. I'd no longer be a clinician per se, but I'd oversee all clinical services provided to children and adolescents in that four county region. I cannot say what a massive promotion (and raise) this would be over my current position of clinical supervisor at a private provider agency.
I had my first interview about a week and a half ago. I have no doubt they received countless resumes for the position. I am unsure how many people were called for the first interview, and have no idea how many people along with myself were offered a second interview. What I do know is that I felt my first interview went extremely well.
Do any of you have any words of wisdom, beyond the obvious, for my second interview which may give me an edge over the competition. Thanks a ton in advance!

Oh, and good luck

And the best way to get someone to like you is to like them first and express this affection by asking sincere questions about them, their family, their hobbies, and the job.

Even something as simple as "oh, you have a dog? What kind of dog? How old is he?" can turn the tide in your favor.
I'd also say, show them that you are hungry for their specific job. If they get the feeling you are just desperate for work in general, they may not like that, but if you can convey that you don't care what the rest of the market has to offer, and you want only their job, then that can work strongly for you. |

Don't act desperate or overly excited. Just like Jules says...."be cool".

I was one of four people picked for this second round. I'll know in 2-3 weeks what the outcome was. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Thanks guys for the help or well-wishes!
