Sounds pretty cool.

Sorry if it's been seen here before but I did search.

Asa.

Sounds cool, but I like that I can currently eat my graphing calculator without getting sick.

It's awesome, but scary. Yet more proof William Gibson is not actually a writer, but a visionary prophet who chooses to communicate his visions through the medium of novels with terrible sex scenes and over-use of the word "crepuscular"...

hmm... never heard about that. im not sure thats something specifically im after, but im glad to be hitting some branch of biotech in the next couple of years.

so... heres something i cant wrap my head around, quite possibly because they are both so theoretical the question is moot, but: would one of these biological computers be faster than the theorized quantum computer? i mean, if a quantum computer still works the same way, in that it explores all paths one at a time, but it does them faster than the speed of light, ie- one particle in two places at once, could that be faster than one system that explores all options at once? all theory. no proof. intuition tells me the quantum model could be faster, but thats nothing more than a guess.
