Anybody else watching Life On Mars?

My wife and I have watched since the pilot episode and really like it. Gotta love those muttonchop sideburns, and the circa 1973 tunes are pretty groovy, too!

Watchable, but awful compared to the UK original. (I'm a fan... I guess the avatar's a dead giveaway )

I like Harvey Keitel as an actor, but he's not Gene Hunt. There's only one Gene Hunt, and he's from Manchester, and played by Philip Glenister.

i too enjoy Life on Mars, although i never know when it's on, so i've only caught the odd episode here and there. i should look up its schedule.
i also find myself watching Dr. Who... maybe i'm secretly from the UK.....

I don't understand why Americans never get the real UK TV shows - always remakes. We always get the original US versions - Friends, The Simpsons, Prison Break, 24, Smallville, all of that stuff. America got a remake of 'The Office', Life on Mars, there are rumours of a US remake of The IT Crowd... do you get any English TV over there?

We get BBC America, but to be honest, I don't watch much on it except reruns of Monty Python. Not that I'm not a fan of British TV, I loved The Young Ones, but I just don't set too much time aside for TV other than a couple of shows - currently Entourage and Life On Mars. Oh yeah, and all day Saturdays in the fall for college football.

I think we remake so many shows because the majority of Americans want something American - and unfortunately, American network TV is all about Nielsen ratings and selling ad time. This goes back decades, when Steptoe and Son was adapted in the US as Sanford and Son.

Has it officially gotten the axe? I missed the season finale. If so, that's a shame.

We get Top Gear and that is all that really matters.

Series 2 of the follow-up, Ashes To Ashes, starts in a couple of weeks on BBC1. Can never get enough Gene Hunt!

And, for sheer comedy value, for you Tweeters out there, here's one to follow:

They are canceling it? I've been traveling since January so I haven't seen it since then. Thats a shame, I really liked that show.

I like the show and I am going to miss it. But I also get tired of shows staying on too long like Lost and 24. Shows need a beginning, middle, and end too. I hope they do offer closure on the concept.

I don't know who this Gene Hunt guy is, but Harvey Keitel has been excellent in his role.

Well I just watched the series finale - I'm not sure what to think of that ending, but I did like hearing "Mona Lisas & Mad Hatters". I sure going to miss that show

What did you think?
