Anybody an expert in hair tests?
 

Backround: I participated in some frowned upon activity about 90 days ago(marijuana). It was the first time I did so in 6 months. About a month after that I buzzed my hair. It was a very short haircut. Fastforward to now, I was offered the opportunity to really advance my employment. I found out, though, the drug test is a hair test. So anybody out there have experience with this? I did my homework and it said that the testing places are only allowed to test 1.5" of hair. Hair grows about .5" a month so the farthest they can reach is about 3 months. If it makes any difference it was a small amount spread over a week with the last use on November 28th 2012. The haircut was January 10th 2013. The hair was about .5" long after cut, if that. I also read about a rinse with tide and clean and clear. Anyone here have success with that? Thanks in advance.

AFAIK, traces of weed remain in the root (follicle?), and it doesn't matter how many times you cut your hair or how much hair they have to work with. My understanding is that it can stay in your hair for a very long time, years perhaps.

worst that can happen is you fail. not doing drugs tends to alleviate the risk.

And they don't need to get it from your head. A friend on my, who is bald, and they just took the hair from his arm pits.

I think what everyone here is telling you is that the only to be safe is to get a full body brazilian wax.

That still won't help. You would have to remove ALL ROOTS from your body, so in effect, they couldn't even take the hair sample.

It must be a big job you are applying for because FWIU, these tests are very expensive.

If you did it once in six months and last did it 90 days ago you're probably going to be ok

If it's a urine test, he'd be fine, but it's hair follicle, a bit more serious.

Their info is spot on based on my experience with UAs so I'm going to assume their right on this too

Perhaps theyre not trying to check whether or not he's ever smoked pot, and he wont be turned down for having smoked over 90 days ago?
I dont know, though, just speculating.

Don't sweat it. Unless they don't want hair off of your head. Hair grows at a predictable rate, and they can tell about when you did what you did based on how where in the hair shaft they find stuff.

I do not think the bad stuff stays in the follicle. My understanding is that it goes into the hair as it grows. I think they either burn or dissolve the hair and use a mass spectrometer to analize it's chemical composition.

Do NOT show up with a fresh buzz cut. Maybe a little trim, but don't make it look like you're trying to be sneaky.

Pubes grow at a lot slower rate than head hair, and I know someone who's had to supply a sample of them.

You would think different if you owned a business and one of your employees on drugs or impaired got in an accident causing injury to others. The resulting lawsuit would probably bankrupt your business.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but they can only look and base their decision off the last 90 days, so even if they find something, if its been more than 90 days youre A O K.
