I try to do one every day, and like one in a local paper. I can usually crank one out in about 20 minutes and it feels good. Anyone else do crossword puzzles?

yes, I love doing the Washington Post online one. You can do it faster by typing, I think my best time so far was like 8 minutes.

I love doing the crossword. Usually takes me 15 to 20 minutes.

You guys are much better than I. It takes me a while to do a crossword puzzle in the paper and sometimes I can't even finish it.

I usually do mine in between classes, or while sitting in Accounting.

I read two newspapers a day, and try to get the crossword puzzles done sometime during the day/week. The NYT is harder than my former employer, the LA Times. Sudoku?

I do a lot of Sudoku ever since I got bored with crosswords a few years back.

I also like to do the "British style" crosswords when I run across them from time to time. They have a lot fewer keyed letters and they don't really go after arcane words as much as they do challenging clues.

I do them everyday in the Memphis newspaper, and the USA Today if I'm traveling. I'm good on those, but pretty pathetic when it comes to the NY Times puzzles...

My mother was a real crossword fan and always had to do the NY Times Sunday puzzle and as a result, I also do a lot of crossword puzzles. I do probably 3-4 a day as well as quote acrostics, Sudoku, and Kakuro puzzles. But my main puzzle is still the crossword, especially the larger harder ones like NY Times. But be careful of ones like the London times - they use language differently and the puzzle is hard enough for their locals, let alone yankees like me. The puns and anagram crosswords are cool too, but again, they tend to be quite hard. Diagramless run the gamut from hard to easy, although they can be a pain if you pick the wrong starting square and mess up the grid.

No. But I'm a bonified Sudoku addict. Once on a trip to Japan I missed most of the movies because of Sudoku.

Same here. I don't do crosswords, but ever since I got my new phone (Blackberry Bold), I'm pretty much addicted to Sudoku.
(Great sudoku puzzles in the phone that is)

I like to do them sometimes. I also have a crack at the Times cryptic crossword occasionally, now that is a damn hard crossword. My Dad loves it though.

I've had periods of being a crossword obsessive. Not so much anymore, but I always like to try the one in Scientific American. Even if it's not that hard it can take a while because of the specialized vocabulary.

One thing I often need to remind myself of is that if you get absolutely stuck at some point chances are you have at least one word wrong somewhere, even if you don't think so. That's why I use a pencil, because changing letters with a ballpoint pen gets messy fast.
