Anyone else having flooding issues? (US east coast)

Just wanted to give a shout to all my bros & sis's in N.C., Virginia, and up north, that are finally starting to see the sun again.

My town has minor flooding, but nothing too major. We now have a pond in the area behind my work, that used to be a simple culvert! Other parts of the state are worse. There are sections near the N.C./Virginia border that are flooded as bad as when Floyd hit back in '99.

We actually had a section of our bedroom ceiling start leaking last night. Water was coming in somewhere from the roof, collecting in a piece of insulation, and pooling up in the corner of the attic, right above our bedroom. I'm off to meet with the Insurance Adjuster right.

Hope you guys are all keeping safe, and keep that equipment dry!

We aren't now, but I bet we will in the spring. This has been a very wet fall - lots of water "in the system" so if we have a lot of snow this winter it could be a very wet spring.

Yup. Three feet in the basement. Power failure trumped my awesome sump pumps. Once I had power back, the pumps emptied the basement in about 2.5 hours.
Furnace guy is here now replacing pretty much everything electrical.
Sadly, just made the arrangements last week for some landscape work that will include a swale for some flood control. Probably be done next weekl! Rats.
Worst damage so far is my old direct-drive Techniques turntable that I had just moved downstairs...temporarily.
All bass gear is nice and cozy on second floor.

Caremaster came by and went at lunch. The culprit? A single nail pop out of one of the shingles. They already fixed the roof and are drying out the ceiling. It's plaster, so it's a bit more of a PITA to fix, but it should be done Monday.

Hard to believe so much water came through such a tiny hole in the roof. Well, the animals were starting to pair up outside.

Might not even be enough to cover the homeowners insurance deductible. Believe me, I'm not complaining.

good luck, gang. i just got off the phone with a vendor in boston who said they were getting dumped on heavily.

iowa is in the middle of a full week of sun and 70's weather. after our incredibly wet summer, it has been a thrill and a half. my basement was leaking in places i had never seen before. i just finished cleaning out my laundry room. our town was on its first ever boil-alert; we had several water main breaks.

flooding is a big ole drag. again, good luck and be safe.

My house is in the clear... but there are 3 close-by neighbors who now have new leaks in their roofs.

My commute last night, which is normally 1 hour, was 2 and a half due to flooded roads.

Stay safe//dry, everyone!

I'm in New England this week, and the weather here is nucking futs. I'm from the Pacific Northwest, and the rain here AMAZES me. It's a torrential down pour and 70 degrees, and it lasts for ages. Then it stops raining, and it's just grossly humid. DAH
