| | | | Sorry, no sad tales to tell for USPS. Last week it took only four days tops to get two packages from California to Omaha Ne. What exactly do you the OP, consider to be inordinately slow service? |

The only info I've got from this system usually appears after the item arrives and shows the often messed-up route it took to get to you! |

But for us to send it across the country it takes about two days. Makes no sense, my mom (owner of a buisness) called the postmaster in our town and complained and now the mail has been coming same day!

They were trying to eliminate Saturday delivery (they may cut a weekday delivery day instead). It doesn't surprise me that they seem slower with the cutbacks they are trying to make.

Each mailbox is clearly labeled with the apartment number and residents names, but almost everyday there is something delivered to us that isn't ours or to our neighbors that belongs to us. On top of that, we go through random spans where delivery/pickup will be spotty. I had a piece of mail sit in our mail box from friday morning when I put it out, until the following tuesday when they finally decided to deliver our mail again. Since that time, we usually will only have one day spans without pickup/delivery, but it has gotten ridiculous.
The sad part is, I live about 5 minutes (walking distance) away from the post office. |

That said, I've recently had a couple of packages that I sent internationally get to their destination with remarkable promptness. |

It could be there next day (guaranteed-or your money back-and with world class tracking),if you selected "Express mail".
USPS rates overall, are still less expensive than UPS and Fedex. |
