Anyone else thought that The Hangover Part II was a bit disappointing?

I saw it earlier on today, and I was expecting it to be great, but i was quite gutted tbh. It was Ok, but it was predictable, and it was no were near as good as the 1st one

I thought the first one was pretty bad

TBH, I saw it in a room with a lot of people who had already seen it and who had no remorse talking the entire time. It could of been a good movie had everyone just been watching it, but from what I saw I wasn't that impressed anyways.

It wasn't as good as the first one, but it still had it's moments.

It was going to be predictable, to an extent, when it was clear they were going to use a similar story line to the first one.

THANK YOU!!!
I was SO disappointed with the first one after hearing so much about it. I mean... REALLY disappointed. The trunk scene was the only one that even made me smile.

I'll watch this one ... when it cones out on cable, but I won't be expecting much.

FWIW, I'm seriously not a wet blanket. I love comedy, just don't get it.

I saw 15 minutes of the first one at a friend's house...not funny at all. There hasn't been a good comedy in years...everything that comes out seems to be fart jokes aimed at 14-year old boys, or it's a movie with grown men acting like children (again, aimed at 14-year old boys). I outgrew that type of humour when I was 15, but these days grown adults find it entertaining, which only proves that the dumbing down of society continues at a breakneck pace.

The fact that Adam Sandler is a millionaire should make people angry, but instead people willingly pay money to see the crap he puts out.

The first one was good. But only for a single viewing, as it was all about the shock factor. Even so, didn't live up to the hype. The second one... I'm really just not inspired at see at all.

Hey now, Adam Sandler movies have matured a lot from the likes of Billy Madison. I really liked 50 first dates for example, and there are several good movies he produced but didn't star in that were quite good as well.

Admittedly though, original movies of all genres have become bit of a rarity. Good ones even more so.

I dunno about the dumming down of society. As someone who works in the sciences and most of the guys I hang about with are working on PhDs or already have them, we certainly jack-ass about a lot. Certainly need a bit of fun to clear the head!

I'll agree with that, certainly only a one-watch film.

Same here. I think it got overhyped because the whole time I was watching it I was like, "OK, so when does it start getting funny," and before I knew it the movie was over

There's been a few threads in the past about how modern day comedy is only about shock humor and I tend to agree. It's not bad in small doses, but at the rate they've been releasing these kinds of movies there's really nothing 'shocking' anymore and I just find myself bored.

The Hangover 1 = Extremely meh.

I could never really stand that Zack Galifinakis guy though, even when he was on the Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job, which I love, he is just not funny to me, even annoying most of the time.

I'd rather watch me some Ace Ventura than any recent comedies from the last 5 years.

No offense to you and your friends, but acting like a jack-ass is what many people consider dumbing (dumming?? ) down. It doesn't take any imagination and it's rarely funny.

Haven't seen it but by seeing the trailer it was obvious that rather than make a new funny movie, they were going to try to make the same one over again. Sequels rarely live up the original anyway

We have to use a heck of a imagination and hard work. Many people who consider that dumbing down are far too uptight and work in middle management areas or worse.

Ever gone out partying with medics or engineers? Those cats are crazy. Would you say that they are all dumbing down the population? If so, you really are far too uptight mate! Working in a formal, serious and stressful working environment for 70-80 hours a week, yeah, I think that makes it ok for us to jack-ass about in spare time, blow off some steam.

What should we do in our spare time? Check the horses are shoed? Compliment passing drivers on their Grey Poupon? I'd rather rattle some strings and make some noise, run about with 29 other guys in the mud in what is nothing more than an act of barbarity, move heavy things, alpha male caveman me strong!

I'm presenting at one of the biggest optics & photonics conferences in the world in a few months, I recently found out a friend of mine is also going. In with some other sightseeing, we are going to hit up some surfing then jump the border to Tijuana.

I'm more than happy with the way I live, and if people consider that to be dumbing down, well, they can think that. I'll just choose to disgree!

(hey, mock my english, I type quickly and don't usually re-read it when it's on something like a message board, one of these things that doesn't matter, you know, like how people choose to spend thier spare time (within the bounds of the law ) )

I didn't see the second movie and I don't really plan on it--it seems like the original title must have been "The Hangover II: More of the Same" or something similar...it just looks like they are re-hashing the same "jokes"...in any case, I already saw dude where's my car, so I've heard all the "How did this all happen?" jokes before anyways.
