I frequently google things like "travel tips", even looking for tricks on getting through airport security without hassle. I love looking at pictures of and reading about airports and airplanes; I practically live on www.airliners.net.
Does anyone else just love all things travel-related too? No particular reason, you just do? |

I've been "denied" the chance to do that the past few years, but once I get through the next few months and get my pins back underneath myself, look out world.
As for photos, bmc keeps my inbox filled with plenty of interesting snaps of far away places with airplanes in them!

However, all my TB buds and the rest of my immediate family have been a lifeline, and continue to be.
I am pretty messed up, but I will survive, and eventually thrive.

Whenever possible, I'd rather drive than fly. Air travel is a huge pain in the butt today, and the idiot security requirements (take off my SHOES because of one idiot years ago??? No liquids, when any three people could combine them on the plane???) don't make it any better.
To me, air travel is a gross inconvenience required to reach a destination, nothing better.

Does anyone else just love all things travel-related too? No particular reason, you just do? | I love travel. I'm in the airline business. I've managed to visit 40 countries so far. It's a pretty cool planet.
As for the joy of air travel, if you want hassle, travel to the USA and start stripping for the TSA (Thousands Standing Around). Then, enjoy ALWAYS being pulled aside for a "Random Check". Everywhere else is much easier.
As for air travel, lots of good airlines out there. Lots of nice airports as well. Airliners is a great site for geeks. I work at an airport. My office overlooks the widebody VIP parking stands on the ramp. Right now, the president of Burkina Faso's B727 is parked outside. We get private B747's, B777's, A340's. One of the local jet charter outfits has the first private B787 on order. They operate A319CJ's, Boeing BBJ's, a B757 and a B767-300ER. U2 used one of their BBJ's for their Elevation tour in 2001.
There are a few of propeller heads on TB. Gard, Bob Lee, Mike Jewels, Bassic83, Relic. We're all aflicted.
I send them the odd email now and then.

Airports can actually be really cool places, especially big international ones. Just a cool thing to see people coming and going from all over the planet.
Love aircraft though, that's the best part of traveling!
BTW - Mark, how was the trip??
