I'm going to see them tomorrow at the Myth in Maplewood, MN and I was wondering if anyone saw them and what they thought of their show.

Their comments were less than favorable. |

| | | | I saw them this past summer on Mayhem Fest. Their mix sucked. The only things that cut through were the leads, drums, and vocals. They might as well not have had a keyboardist. They had pretty killer stage presence, but overall, Disturbed came out and blew them off the stage (plus Disturbed had a very good mix). The singer introduced one of the tunes as "The song that made Guitar Hero III famous," or something like that. I thought that was a pretty douchey and arrogant comment.
I think they're a very talented band from a technical standpoint, but I just see very little creativity in their songwriting and arranging. Every song seems follow the same format with recycled harmonized guitar leads that they mined from their Iron Maiden albums growing up.

The Myth has a pretty good sound system for a nighclub so hopefully everything is heard in the mix. I saw Bleeding Through and HIM there last year and both bands sounded phenomenal, except you could barely hear Marta's keyboards when Bleeding Through played.

I was there for powerglove and turisas though

Mostly, I found Sam Totman's (2nd guitarist) stage antics INCREDIBLY annoying.
For the most part the show was Herman Li standing on a pedestal with wind-blown hair demonstrating the use of a Digitech Whammy pedal .

It was basically their lead singer calling everyone mother---ers a lot.
And their keyboardist acting like a complete tool.
But the sound was much better than I expected.
Every single one of their songs sounds the same though

Before guitar hero, the only people I knew who bought their album bought it because it was so lame that it was funny to listen to. Like, "hey check it out, can you believe this band actually exists," followed by 3 minutes of listening and looking at CD art and then epic LOLing.

The show sucked terribly and it was a waste of the zero dollars we paid to get in. However we got free drinks all night, and not many people use the VIP bathroom.
