Is anyone familiar with the American Income Life Insurance company?

I got a call from an HR person from American Income Life Insurance on Oahu asking me if I would come in for an interview in the near future for a sales/management position.

1. I never applied to them for work. although my resume is posted on Careerbuilder.com and Monster.com and I am looking for work.

2. I live on the Big Island not Oahu.

3. I see mixed comments on the internet regarding the company (many not good).

I get the impression that the company operates on a commission only basis for it's sales people and each salesperson needs to recruit additional sales people to work under them to make any money (pyramid scheme?)

Anyone familiar with this company?

Thanks!

Mike

I don't know that company from Adam, but any insurance sales position will be commissioned sales. Particularly if you are an outside contractor type, rather than a direct employee.

Questions to ask: Who pays for the insurance license and study course (assuming their is one)? How do they pay out? What sort of sales tactics do they use? What sort of complaints are most common for them?

Good luck.

you have to go to your states' approved school to get licensed. it is a sales postion and you have to do your own digging for leads. i worked for them in AR and they basically feed you to the wolves if you don't have any sales experience. if you are good at cold-call sales, you can do well.

Sorry to chop up your comment, but I'll add to this that the OP is doing the above with the same brand that was found to be generally questionable. Until the OP creates his/her own brand through sweat equity, they are lugging someone else's around.

Perhaps the OP should reach out to companies with a better track record. The health of the economy is turning ever so slightly and arms of these well established, regarded companies are likely to be growing.
