What a great band, there one of the greatest live acts you'll ever witness. Is anyone here a fan of theres? I can't wait for there new album to come out, it'll be interesting to see what there version of Peace of Mind sounds like. If it's anything like there cover of Shining Star then I know it'll be awesome. |

As for Peace of Mind, they performed it live during the concert to benefit the victims of the Station Nightclub fire in Rhode Island. There was a concert televised on VH1 a couple of weeks back. Tom Scholtz even played it with them. Sounded pretty good. |

If it weren't for the tb rules with religious topic i could further prove my point.
I don't like how some metal heads think like that I mean if the whole Satan topic thing is all tongue in cheek and you guys say your not satanists why can't they sing about christian stories also without being religious?

People like that make me hate liking metal.
Oh yeah, Stryper rock!

The whole attitude of Heavy Metal is that it is a battle cry for people who are against mainstream culture and authority. Its what I listen to when I want to be a little evil for awhile. Metal made its mark bye being the genre that dealt with darker subject matter. The idea of christian metal just seams to me to be very... Backwards (I had a better word, but couldnt think of it). It just defeats the purpose of why I personally listen to the genre. Also my experience with listening to Christian music is that the musicianship is just not up to par. Then you got take that an put it in the already cheesy 80s hair scene. Its a trainwreck. Stryper is lame.
COME ON!!

COME ON!! | Then you should be against pretty much every band that came out during the 80's. Are you also against Judas Priest too? I can probably rattle off a ton of bands that don't fit your definition of metal. The point is that they had a message just as your bands had their message. They filled a void that desperately needed filling. They may not conform to your definition of metal, but aren't they doing what you describe, being against a mainstream thought that metal can't have a positive meaning?
