I'm an amateur photographer (still working on getting my first DSLR) but I figure some of you guys probably have some great stuff to share, so lets have a general photography thread! So feel free to share your pictures, talk about gear, experiences shooting, etc.

Hey! I'm also saving up for my first DSLR (Canon EOS 40D) and I take pictures as a hobby on the side

90% of my photography is lighbox photos of my knives. It's fun, playing with new backgrounds and techniques but not all that exciting. I enjoy getting out and taking shots of my Son and his friends skatboarding!! I have a Nikon D200 with several lenses for the lightbox shots and a tele for everything else.

Here is a picture of my friend with a flintlock he built from a kit. Taken with a Canon 40d actually.
