Anyone with a job get a bonus this year?

I'm grateful to be working so I'm not crying. Not a lot anyway. Well we did not get any bonus' this year. Second year in a row and thats OK. Thats the construction industry today. But I was hoping for the bonus.

I had my eye on a few things.

First, I was looking at the G&L 30th Anniversary L2K.

Then I was looking at used L2K's and maybe one of the L1K's for sale here on TB and on Ebay.

Thirdly I had my eye on a Warwick Corvette Standard 4 string. Hoping to land a German made one.

Whats your story?

I work part time so I don't qualify for those fancy kinds of things like bonuses and benefits.

We got a bonus, but we're in a bit of a unique industry that seems to do better when the economy is down.

I used mine to do Christmas shopping and I'll be using what's left to partially pay for new tires (omg, they are expensive).

I too am in construction and have only worked on a 90 day contract since being laid off in February. I'm doing my best to keep my son in daycare right now. But I asked my family for GC gift cards and hope to ease my new found GAS for effects. I need a small board to house my three pedals with room for the other three that I want.

I feel blessed as well to have employment. We are having our Christmas party later today and word is I have a $500 bonus coming... nothing close to the $5k I have got in years past but as I said I feel blessed all the same.

Toronto Ontario, 5 years ago 10% of businesses handed out a Christmas bonus. I believe with the way the economy has been going that percentage has dropped to about 6 -7% if not lower.

I used to get a bonus from past employers but, since I've been employed with my current company (and they are huge/world wide) I have not received one in 5 years. We do have a Christmas party and are given small gifts but never a money bonus.

I consider myself blessed, there are lots who have no job at all.

Yup, but it went to the kids' and girlfriend's Christmas presents. Well, I guess I bought my Epi EB-3.

Official word this year was that our company was not giving out bonuses, but I was one of four who received one...a very, very good one. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how much of it will be going to musical equipment....

In 10 years of full-time professional status with 2 different employers (I'm an electrical engineer), I've NEVER received a Christmas bonus - and no one I've worked with has, either.

In fact, very few of the people I know in the industry get any kind of bonuses at all.

I'm working for the wrong folks, I guess. But I have a job, even if it isn't full-time music.

Luckily I get quarterly bonuses. But, sadly, I used my Christmas one for shopping and not a GAS attack

2 part time jobs = no bonus for me...

My wife is a nurse. She got a a bonus this year. First time in 19 yrs....

I got a $50 Visa Gift card...whoopee! And that is because they canceled the annual Christmas party (which I only went to twice in the five years Ive worked where I am now). So in the 5 years at my current job, 10 at the previous job, and 2.5 at my first job (in my industry), Ive gotten a bonus this year and may one other time (I think of $25...another gift card)

It sucks but at least I have a job.

Yes, but it's all going towards bills. Got credit cards, classes, car payment, and threw some in savings. I won't have money to spend on me til tax time.

I'm a state government employee in Maryland. They took money away from us again. Thanks to my gigs and another job, I was able to handle the unexpected incidentials and get some cool gear this year. Eden WTDI, Hohner B-Bass VI for birthday, Peavey Bass Fex, Eden 1x15 cabinet. A Rocktron ThunderBass and sold it on ebay. For Christmas I am finally getting an Eden 4x10 Cabinet. I have been blessed indeed.

I paid my 2 very loyal and essential employees nice bonuses this year (none last year). Not enough left for me to bonus myself. BUT, we're still in business and this last year was way up form last and I lost a LOT less money than the year before... I'm optimistic for 2011.
