I use to be a fan but with growing up I just got out of touch with the series. I tried to get back into a while ago but I just did not like the 9th doctor. However something about the 10th is much more enjoyable and I've loved the three episodes I've seen so far. I was on the doomsday ark and saw Silence in the Library and I'm disparately waiting for Sci Fi to air the second part. I should look into getting satellite.

So, far they've brought back all the old villian aliens, cybermen, daleks and a bunch I don't remember the names of.
It doesn't hurt that his female companions are generally hot either. |

I love it. the special effects aren't realistic, let's face it, but it doesn't matter. the acting is generally top notch, I love the plots, always a bunch of celebs in it, and its managed to bring doctor who back to the younger generations, such as myself.

One of my best friends bought the first season(with Christopher Eccleston), and was telling me about the Bad Wolf thing, so I borrowed it from him and watched the whole season in 1 day. After that, I set up my DVR to record every episode. Sadly, I don't get Torchwood, but I'd like to see it. |

I started watching when Tom Baker was the Doctor and continued watching through the Colin Baker episodes. I managed to record the back episodes but I haven't seen those in years. They're on Betamax tapes and I don't think I have a Beta player anymore so I guess it doesn't much matter. I got to meet Patrick Troughton at a Dr Who convention (that I went to one is a little embarrassing to even type) which was kind of cool but I just couldn't take Sylvester McCoy and I pretty much lost track of it until last year.
I liked Christopher Eccleston, he was funny in a different way than David Tennant is but I think he did a good job. It probably wasn't easy bringing that series back to life, given it's past and the sizable following it had. Regardless of what they did someone somewhere would be disappointed; it wasn't enough like the old series or it was too much like the old series, take your pick. We don't have cable tv as an option where I live and I'm too cheap to pay for satellite so the only way I have to watch it now is either to borrow or buy the series on DVD. I think I've got 2005, 2006 and some of 2007 on my laptop. DVD's are available on Amazon but they seemed kind of pricey. I might end up buying the newest series at some point though as I've enjoyed what I've seen so far. |

actually, I was reading an article (in the sun, no less! ) about the number of welsh people claiming they'd been abducted by aliens.
