Yes, it is a rant. No, I'm not looking for sympathy. I just need to vent for a second:
It seems I have the worst luck with apartments and roommates. I live in a place that so far has screwed me out of hundreds of dollars in fees I've never even heard of before, lived with a freeloading roommate that has cost me roughly $700 to sit on my couch, drink my beer, and eat my food, all without even trying to get a job, and now I have a decent roommate that works all the way out in the bloody boondocks and wants to move 20 miles away from my work so he can be closer to his job. To top that off, he wants a house, and absolutely refuses to consider anything else.
The crappy thing is that he's not really doing any of the work. I'm the one that takes off early to see houses and the like, I'm the one doing all the hunting, and I'm not even the one who wants to move!
The obvious decision here is to let him be closer to his job (which is very understandable) and either find myself another roommate or get a smaller apartment. Doesn't make it any easier that this guy is one of my best friends, the kind I can actually stand to live with for extended periods of time.
I hate apartment hunting, I hate dealing with roommates, I hate all this stupid crap involved with trying to find a decent place to live...

Anyone in the Medical Center area want a roommate?...
