Just saw the 11:20am. matinee.
Can't tell you when the last time I wanted to see a movie bad enough to actually go to a theater rather then wait for the DVD.

I should have waited. Not good at all.
First, it is shown as if from the perspective of the astonaut's cameras. So there is no great cinematography. Most of it is grainy and the picture is 95% in a narrow format. Oh, and brace yourself for the "Blair Witch Headache".

Plus, there is a HUGE plot problem at the very end. Just horrible.

Lame... I am in the same boat as you.. I seen the commercial and was like... "wow... this could be something different.. for once!" However, I did instantly pick up that Blair Witch nostalgia when watching the commercial. I guess you saved my some good money! I would of been plenty upset to spend cash on something that is a waste.

Fully expecting a let-down, but no spoilers please anyway!

Can't be any worse than that Battle:Los Angeles crap I sat through the other night. Can't think of a film with more bullets.

Aw man. I was pumped for this one too. The fact that its shot from the astronaut's perspective with sucky picture is a major let-down. I thought Blair Witch was a great movie, just extremely hard to watch; if this is in the same camp, forget it.

I could have told you all of that.

Question I do not feel is worth looking up... is this movie by the same director or writer that did Quarantine? The two movies, preview-wise, look identical with only a setting change.

I'm a sucker for this stuff, but - it Is kinda sad that earlier in the year the producer tried to convince a writer that the footage in this film is Actual Recovered Footage from the mission. Shuhyeah - right. His quote was something along the lines of: "We didn't shoot anything. We found it, baby." Lame.

Yet - I will still see this movie, one way or another.

I probably won't be stepping into a movie theater until The Rum Diary is released.

I actually was surprised by Battle: Los Angeles. I thought it was going to stink then ended up liking it...

Man, can we get over the "shaky hand-held camera" thing, please? It's been done to death, it doesn't make me think I'm watching "real" footage, and it give me a f'n headache.

+1

Joss Whedon and David Boyd nailed it with Firefly (*sigh*) where it was a subtle effect that set the mood so it can be great but a lot of it just looks ****y and is distracting.

When a movie is advertised on almost every banner on websites, you know it's going to be bad. They're just relying on the opening weekend sales (based off of the hype) to make their money.

I think we need a shaky hand-held camera flick in 3D, so we can get twice as nauseated and pay an extra three bucks for the privilege.

Well,.....
I didn't want to be responsible for any real spoilers.

That will be answered in Apollo 19: Electric Boogaloo
