I work for a company near Phoenix, Arizona. The whole lot of them are fans of the Arizona Cardinals NFL team. I happen to be a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers NFL team. I also happen to be the network admimnistrator here. As such, I can control the desktop experience for all end users via group policy.

My plan for tonight is to edit the wallpaper for everyones profile so when they log in Friday morning they will have a new picture. The new wallpaper will feature a screen shot of Santonio Holmes catching the winning touchdown against the Cardinals in the Super Bowl a couple years ago.

Out of the 25 or so people who got their new wallpaper this morning, one was really mad and a couple others were unhappy. The really mad person called me to say how mad he was. The other two sent me instant messages about it, and then sent me a picture of the Packers celebrating the Super Bowl last season.

Everyone else got a kick out of it, and then I was promptly teased about how terrible the Pirates are. All in good fun. Nice way to start a Friday.

I laugh every time I think about the conversation. So of course, I will do it again tonight after he goes home so he has another surprise for him Monday.

I had someone wake me at 6am to tell me that a big deadline had been moved from today to Monday. It hadn't.

Fortunately, the person was kind enough to tell me in time for me to get everything handed in on time.

i spent the better part of the day completing and delivering a reapplication (medical break) to finish my last three quarters. today was the last day to get priority registration. i told my mom i was too late and wouldnt get back into uc santa cruz until 2012, because i didnt file it in time. im mean like that. it got a few seconds of gasps before i felt bad enough to remind her what day it was. too easy.
