That's okay, I bought mine in 1991. Bought my AK in '92. The AR is so much better in just about every respect.

Sorry but if you really want to invest the choice is HK rifles.
HK94's are now topping $4500+! I remember when they couldn't sell those things back in the 80's for $499!
